Cataula Georgia Severe Weather April 15 2011 - video

Severe weather was in the area so I took the camera outside. This is a storm that passed to the north of my location, which was Tornado Warned crossing from Lee Co. Alabama. This storm appeared to be around Hwy 315 and I-185, moving North/Northeast across Harris Co. GA. At this time reports indicate this storm produced a funnel cloud that did damage a mobile-home in the area.

Sorry for the video quality or lack of, and the commentary. I need a better video solution and I was excited.

This same system that spawned many tornadoes over 3 days killing many, is also responsible for spawning a tornado at Fort Benning Georgia.

A National Weather Service survey team determined that an EF-1 Tornado touched down 7 miles east-northeast of Fort Benning at approximately 4:50 AM EDT on Saturday, April 16, 2011. The tornado had wind speeds up to 100 MPH with a path length of one quarter of a mile and a path width of 50 yards. The tornado removed one fourth of the roof of a dormitory on base along with portions of the exterior wall of the same building. This was the only building that was damaged. There were 30 trees downed by the tornado along with numerous cars that were flipped and damaged."
