Severe Storms Muscogee,Harris County GA May 13 2011

The storms that passed through the area caused some damage along the way. Reports of trees and power lines being down were widespread through Muscogge and Harris county. It was around 7 PM EDT that the wind really surprised me here at the house in Cataula. Just before that, there was a power blink which was a tell of what was to come. Luckily this time there was no complete loss of power, and no damage around the homestead.

I watched the storms as they approached from the west, strengthening as they passed through Russell and Lee Co. Alabama. I wondered if the storms would go severe again. Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for these Alabama counties.

Once the storms crossed the Alabama/Georgia line there was question is they again would go severe. There was a Weather Advisory issued for Muscogee, Harris, Chattahoochee and Stewart counties for Dime sizes hail and Winds of 45 MPH. Shortly after The storms did go severe, and a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Harris County until 7:45 PM EDT. However, no warnings were issued for Muscogee County.
